Outré Bride Submissions Process

We’re awfully glad that you are interested in submitting your work/wedding day to Outré Bride, and we strongly encourage you to do so! We’re looking for submissions that capture the essence of the couples/celebrations that are featured – fun, distinctive, meaningful celebrations filled with love that showcase a quirky yet elegant aesthetic.

Submissions include, but are not limited to:

  • Real weddings
  • Engagement sessions
  • Proposals
  • Honeymoon & Travel features
  • Fashion-forward Wedding features
  • Food & Cocktail features
  • Styled/Inspiration shoots
  • Celebrations (anniversaries, rehearsal dinners, engagement parties, bridal showers)
  • Tablescapes

Outré Bride prefers to receive submissions that are exclusive, i.e. have not been previously featured in any other blog or magazine. If the work you are submitting has been featured previously on a blog and/or magazine it may still be considered for a feature on our website-depending on the previous date of publication. However, this information must be stated within the submissions form. If your submission is accepted for publication, we ask for a 90 day window of exclusivity from the date of publication for online editorials and a 120 day window of exclusivity for print editorials before submitting your work to other blogs/print outlets and social media channels.


Two Bright Lights

We’re happy to say that we accept submissions for online and print publication through Two Bright Lights! The guidelines below can be used in helping to make decisions regarding work that is submitted to Outré Bride. You may also refer to the publication information available through the Two Bright Lights platform.


Submissions Guidelines – ONLINE

When completing our submissions form, please include a direct link to the Dropbox folder to access your images. The folder should be labeled with your name and the name of your couple. Be sure to include a name for your submission as well. Please do not submit images as email attachments, zip folder, or as a gallery with a password. We ask for 75 to 100 images of your wedding or styled shoot. For engagement sessions and other feature submissions, we ask for 10 to 30 images. Images should be sized at a minimum of 900 pixels wide and at 72 dpi. Images that are not sized properly will result in a delay in getting your submission approved. Please do not submit images that are watermarked as published work will include all photo credits.

We accept wedding films as long as they are part of a photo feature. When submitting a film, be sure to include a link to the film along with the photo submissions. A decision to publish photography does not guarantee that the film will also be considered for an editorial. However, if the film is accepted, it should be no longer than 5 minutes in length.

Approval of a submission may take a minimum of 24 hours up to a period of two weeks. Once your submission is approved, we will require you or your client to complete an online questionnaire. No submissions will be published without a completed questionnaire and list of full vendor credits.

If you submit an event but a response does not follow within the aforementioned time frame, feel free to email us at to ensure we have received it, and/or to get feedback on why it was not accepted before submitting to another publication. By completing the submissions form, you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions.


Submissions Guidelines – PRINT

We accept real weddings and styled shoots for print. To be considered for print, complete the submissions form. All real wedding submissions are reviewed for inclusion in our print editions first, and then online. If your wedding is accepted for print, you will be notified and hi-resolution images will be requested. Our print magazine will be released quarterly with the first publication set for 2018.

Please note – We do not accept any submissions for print that have been featured in other magazines, online publications such as blogs/portfolios, or social media channels as we strive to provide exclusive, original, unique content for our readers. Please do not submit weddings/engagements/shoots that took place more than 18 months from the date of submission.

*Please do not submit a wedding without the express written consent of the couple, and please ensure that they will be able to answer any questions about their event. For couples submitting their photos, please make sure that a  photo release has been signed if  you’re photographer requires  it.

Inquiring minds want to know… How have you kept the flames burning? If you’re a couple that has been married for at least five years, we’d love for you to submit your original wedding photo to Outré Bride along with your current anniversary shoot/celebration. We’ll feature you as well as pick your brains for fun yet useful information that you feel relates to the success of a healthy marriage. We can’t wait to pick up what you’re putting down (in the advice department that is).
