Traditional Meets Modern at Berkeley: Jonathan & Grace

Couple:Jonathan & Grace

This fall wedding was all about the people – both the couple and their beloved family and friends. Design was still an important factor; the Berkeley Faculty Club is rich with history, so it became a mesh of modern people within a historical setting, pulled off seamlessly. Grace bucked traditions in many ways, from palazzo pants for the bride’s maids to the gorgeous pink hue on her wedding dress. However, Tradition was also embraced in the tokens of yesterday from beloved family members that were part of the intricacies and the details of this day. Every wedding has people there only in spirit: the loved ones of Colby and Grace had their own table filled with photographs and treasures. In a sweet touch, Colby’s recently gone father had his own chair, front and center; my favorite moment was when Colby gazed at that chair in recognition of his father.
