Their Couple Story:
As you scroll through Dameka and Cameron’s special day, you’ll be wrapped up in the joy that you see beaming from their faces as they embark on a journey of love together. Their photos along with their couple story show how a spark can ignite into a breathtakingly brilliant display of love.
How We Met
The first time Cameron and I met was in the Fall of 1993. We went on a middle school field trip with the Science Bound Program. We didn’t know it then, but the two of us would continue to run into each other over the coming years at different events.
During Cameron’s Winter Break in 2002, he ran into my best friend, Tiara, at the Iowa Fair. She called me and said, “Guess who’s standing in front of me…. Cameron! He is asking for your number. Is it ok that I give it to him?” I said, “Sure, that’s fine.” After this, we reconnected on January 14, 2002.
Our first dinner date was at the fabulous, Ruby Tuesday’s Restaurant at Southlake Mall. We talked for hours after the dinner about anything and everything. We went out the following weekend and were pretty inseparable after that. Cameron officially asked me to be his girlfriend on February 3, 2002 and, of course, I said yes.
Cameron planned a surprise birthday dinner for me with a few close family and friends on June 7, 2014 at Kat’s Cafe in Atlanta, GA. Little did I know, he had arranged for the local performing artist to call me up on stage for a birthday dance with him. We danced to Beyonce’s “So In Love” before Cameron spun me around and dropped to one knee. I remember seeing him on his knee and him holding this beautiful ring and asking me to marry him. I was so surprised and happy, all I could do was cry. We hugged and danced to John Legend’s “All of Me”, then celebrated the rest of the night with our family and friends. I laughed, cried and smiled so hard that my face was hurting by the end of the night. It was truly a special day!
All the makings of a perfect day:
