Style Inspiration: Marie Antoinette Weekend Wedding

Style Story: A Marie Antoinette Weekend Wedding

In this Marie Antoinette styled wedding shoot, we wanted to create a narrative that showed a bride’s complete weekend stay at Stella Plantation. Due to the French influences of New Orleans as well as our rich costume culture, we decided to focus on a Marie Antoinette inspiration. We even included background models from a local Mardi Gras krewe, The Merry Antoinettes, to create imagery that has never been seen in wedding shoots before. Our bride arrives at Stella for her celebratory weekend, does a little hunting with her bridesmaids and then a picnic. We then see the opulent reception followed by her waking up in the bridal suite the next morning. We stayed away from the normal pastels that are typically associated with the French Queen and focused on rich jewel tones as well as the beautiful French Blue that is represented throughout. For the catering spread, we chose to use proteins that are local to Stella to highlight our “Live off the Land” mentality. – Greer Gattuso Photography
