Textured Love: Wedding Day Style Inspiration

Style Story: Textured Love

The inspiration behind this shoot came from the word “texture.” The ideas for this shoot came to life around the similarities in love and texture. Texture by definition is the quality created by the combination of the different elements in a work of art. Love like texture is layered and interesting; at times smooth and at times rough. We loved the texture and modern industrial vibe at a local venue, Pear Tree Estate. Pear Tree Estate’s clean lines, open truss ceilings and raw cedar mantles made for a great slate for this inspiration shoot. We wanted brides to be inspired to find inspiration from the items in their own life from this shoot – from the cowhide and leather runners to the velvet wrapped mule mugs and glass escort cards. The prairie south of the venue made a beautiful backdrop for the dark grey cake with bright florals hanging on a door in the trees. The head table was perfectly placed under an exposed beam wrapped with greenery. The outdoor placement was a great way to highlight the amazing sunsets that accompany prairie weddings. Local, personal details make weddings memorable. The florist brought in rustic beams from her family’s old barn. She drilled holes in the beams to secure the taper candles for the farm tables. A local calligrapher wrote vows on a scroll that set the stage for a unique, personalized ceremony. To finish the look, we wanted to incorporate models with a bit of an edge. The bride wore a two-piece blush dress with a show stopper ring and necklace. We chose a model with a tattoo because we think that brides should let their hair down and embrace their own look. The bridesmaid wore a simple black V-Neck gown that allowed the unique asymmetrical bouquet to be the focal point. Wedding days should be like this shoot… personal, unique, interesting and fun.
