Couple: Tony & Katherine
Tony and Katherine have been together for 13 years and they have a 12 year old son, Finis, together. They were finally married in a wedding that was themed around the groom’s favorite football team, the Chicago Bears. Bears details were everywhere. They included ties, cufflinks, socks, signs, and more. The guests waived pompoms in Bears’ colors during the ceremony and reception exits. Even the inside of the cake was Bears colors. During their reception intro, the couple broke through a football-style paper banner with their last name on it. For the garter toss, the garter was placed on a football and thrown. Two of the couple’s nephews, Kaiden and Leroy, were “ring security.” They escorted the ring bearer, the couple’s son, down the aisle in the middle of the ceremony accompanied by the Mission Impossible theme. This was a very diverse wedding. The groom’s father is black and his mother is white and she’s from Germany. The bride’s father is white and her mother is Hispanic. There was a bacon bar during cocktail hour.
