Anyone can hold a camera in their hands and point and shoot. Heck, that’s what I always do. But it takes a photographer with skills and an understanding of his/her subject to be able to tell a story that’s real–a story that reveals the true emotions of the event. On your wedding day or any other day that means a great deal to you, you want to have a photographer who cares about telling your stories through vivid images that will last. Read on to see how Pru does just that. View her work, and you’ll see for yourself that a picture can speak a million words.
How did you get your start in photography?
I’ve always been passionate about preserving the moment, from elementary school. I saved up my coins in college to get a SLR camera and a couple lenses. Back then, the only choice was film cameras. That decision made it official that I was serious about getting better at telling stories with pictures. Over time, I’ve upgraded my cameras, switched to digital and started a business that allows me to preserve memories for a living. It’s been awesome.
How long have you been in business?
I’ve been in business for the last 6 years.
How long does it take couples to get their photos and what formats do you offer, i.e. albums, electronic etc?
The turn around for a traditional wedding is about 4-5 weeks. Elopements are 2-3 weeks. I offer digital galleries but also believe in the longevity of printed photographs. All my packages include an album and other sweet surprises such as wall art. I even offer a personalized mobile app for viewing and sharing on the go.
Are you willing to travel?
Absolutely. I’ve traveled locally, regionally and internationally for weddings. It’s an honor to travel for the work that I love.
How can clients book you for a shoot/event?
What sets you apart from other photographers–what makes you different?
Every event is different. Each couple/family interacts in a way that is quirky and unique. I love preserving something that is real yet intangible but oh-so-important. My work is full of emotion. I love telling the story but most importantly showing the intimacy in relationships.
Pru’s photos definitely capture the essence of the relationships that she has the privilege of documenting. They’re absolutely gorgeous–but don’t take my word for it, see for yourself.
